
Columbia, SC –The City of Columbia continues to respond to unprecedented flooding in the Midlands.
According to the most recent numbers from city officials, more than 200 people have been evacuated with more rescues pending.
The dam at Arcadia Lakes has been breached as a result of unprecedented flooding.
There have been eight confirmed sanitary sewage overflows and eight downed trees.
City officials say there has also been a high volume of displaced residents and stranded cars.
The following roads are closed:
· Pinebelt and Chester
· North Main and Mason (sink hole)
· I-20 (from Two Notch to I-77) is closed in both directions
· 277 at Farrow
· I-77 ramps at Jackson Blvd shutdown due to high water
· Ft. Jackson Blvd and Devine (power outage for this entire corridor)
· Gills Creek Parkway
· South Beltline – 1500 block has power outage, lines down
· Rosewood at Midlands Tech
· Lost Creek Dr.
· Lakewood between Trenholm Rd. and into Shady Ln.
· Trotter and Leesburg
· 1300/ 1400 blocks of Sunset Drive
