The Blue Jays are going with 18-game winner David Price as they try to go back to Toronto with the series tied 1-1.
NEW YORK (AP) β The NLCS starts tonight at New York’s City Field (8:07 p.m. Eastern first pitch). That’s where Matt Harvey of the Mets hooks up against southpaw Jon Lester of the Chicago Cubs in the opener of that best-of-seven series.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) β The top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes face their biggest challenge to date against a Penn State team that has won five straight after an opening loss to Temple. Two years ago in Columbus, the Buckeyes won 63-14 but last season needed double-overtime to defeat the Nittany Lions 31-24 in State College. Ohio State is riding a 19-game winning streak.
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) β Eighth-ranked Florida going into tonight’s showdown against sixth-ranked LSU with backup QB Treon Harris after starter Will Grier was suspended for failing a drug test. LSU’s running game, led by Heisman Trophy candidate Leonard Fournette, is averaging a whopping 346.4 yards a game.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) β Seventh-ranked Michigan State takes its 6-0 record on the road to play 5-1 Michigan State, which is ranked 12th in the AP rankings. The Spartans have won the last seven meetings. The winner becomes the top threat to Ohio State in the Big Ten’s East Division and a serious contender for college football’s playoff.
