Students March to Stop Bullying
CHARLOTTE, NC — Children in Highland Creek are trying to stomp out bullying.
The students at Ridge Road Middle School joined parents and teachers for the “Make it Orange, Make it End, Stomp Out Bullying” walk Wednesday afternoon. They want other children to know that it’s okay to tell an adult if someone is bullying them.
“We believe that all kids should be safe and have a right to be who they are and enjoy and be safe at school,” said parent Sean McCartney. “This is a way for the middle school and the elementary school to show that they support each other and make sure that nobody gets bullied.”
National statistics show 28 percent of middle and high school students say they’ve been bullied.
