49 Arrested During Operation Silent Sweep

CHARLOTTE, NC — More than 100 suspects targeted in two major drug busts in the Charlotte region this week. In Lancaster County, drug agents and deputies arrested 49 out of the 69 targeted suspects during Operation Silent Sweep.

During the course of the year-long operation, investigators seized nearly 600 grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, heroin and meth. They also seized several kinds of prescription drugs, eleven guns, two cars and more than $13,000 in cash.

“Our priority will always be to work drugs aggressively here in Lancaster county so the citizens can feel safe,” said Sheriff Barry Faile.

Investigators focused on areas known for drug trafficking and tips from the community to make the arrests.
