PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) β€” Princeton University has paid tribute to late mathematician and faculty member John Nash, whose life was chronicled in the Russell Crowe movie “A Beautiful Mind.”

Nash was honored Saturday with a public lecture by the author whose book became the basis for the 2001 movie.

The Ivy League university held a day of academic panels and remembrance events to honor Nash, a Nobel Prize winner who struggled with schizophrenia.

Nash and his wife died in a taxi crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in May.

Sylvia Nasar wrote the biography on which the movie was based. She said during the lecture the world may not see the likes of Nash again.

Nash’s family and former colleagues planned to gather at the University Chapel for a public event to honor him.
