Cards entertaining Ravens
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) β University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, is the site of tonight’s NFL game between the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens. Playing on the road is nothing new to the Ravens this year as they have been away from home for four of their six games. Their record isn’t what Baltimore fans have been used to as the Ravens are 1-5. That said, every game has been close. They have not lost a game by more than six points.
The Cardinals stand on top of the NFC West with a record of 4-2 and every win has been a blowout.
On the defensive side of things, the Cardinals top the NFL with 11 interceptions while the Ravens, always known for their defense, have just three.
This is just the sixth time these teams have met with Baltimore leading the series 4-1. The last time they faced off was four years ago when the Ravens pulled off the biggest comeback in team history. After trailing 24-3 in the second quarter they won 30-27.
NHL-SCHEDULE
Light card this evening
UNDATED (AP) β Just three games comprise the NHL schedule this evening. In Chicago the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks are home to a low-scoring Anaheim club. The Ducks are ranked 30th in scoring with just six goals. Tonight’s game is the first of three this season between the clubs. A year ago Chicago won two of the three played.
Arizona continues a five-game road trip with a game in Toronto tonight. Last season the Coyotes won both games with the Maple Leafs, and in New York the Islanders are home to the Calgary Flames. This is game three of a road trip for the Flames and the contest marks the return of the Islanders to the home ice after a road trip.
RLD SERIES-GAME 1
Opening game tomorrow night
KANSAS CITY (AP) β The first game of the World Series will be played tomorrow night in Kansas City with the Royals hosting the Mets. The projected starting pitchers for Game 1 are Matt Harvey for the Mets against Johnny Cueto (KWAY’-toh).
The Royals have home field advantage because of the American League’s win in the All-Star Game this past July. During the regular season the Mets and Royals did not meet but by a quirk in the schedule the Mets open the season with two games in KC next April. Overall the teams have played only nine interleague games between themselves with the Royals leading 5-4.
The last time the Mets won the World Series was in 1986. For the Royals, the last win in the Fall Classic came the year before.

UNDATED (AP) β The NBA starts a new season of play tomorrow night with three games. It all comes to an end eight months from now with the NBA Finals. The first-night schedule has the NBA champion Golden State Warriors playing host to New Orleans, Eastern Conference champion Cleveland at Chicago and Detroit at Atlanta.
