DAVIDSON, N.C. — A Davidson officer and woman are expected to be okay after being attacked by a dog Thursday afternoon.
Officials say, two women were out walking their dogs when the dogs got into a fight. One of the dogs got away from its owner and attacked the other woman knocking her to the ground. The officer, who was on duty on Caldwell Lane, saw the woman being attacked and attempted to assist. The officer suffered injuries to his face and hand before fatally shooting the dog.
Officials say the officer is expected to be out of work for a while due to his injuries. At this time, they are unsure of the type of breed of the dog.
