Police Search for Second Suspect in ATM Theft

CHESTER, SC — An ATM ripped out of the ground in Chester. One suspect is locked up, and a second is on the run.

Police say they stole the ATM from the Founders Credit Union in Chester early Friday morning. The thieves crashed their truck, then ran into the woods after leading deputies on a chase to Richburg.

“I pulled up, coming into work, I didn’t know what was going on,” said Richburg resident Jessica Faulkenberry. “There was SUVs, police and everything lined up near Krinkos. And there was just police everywhere.”

Schools in Richburg went on lock down while authorities searched for the two men. The guys did not get any cash.
