BELMONT, NC — 1 person is dead after an accident involving six vehicles on Wilkinson Boulevard in Belmont.
Around 10am police responded to a multi-car accident in the westbound lane of Wilkinson Blvd. The accident involved six vehicles and resulted in one person’s death and several injured.
Belmont Police Department along with the assistance of North Carolina Highway Patrol and the Gaston County Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit are investigating. No word yet on whether any charges will be warranted.
Police have not released the name of the deceased.
Wilkinson Blvd at Park Street still remains closed. Seek an alternate route around the area.
