CLEVELAND (AP) β€” Johnny Manziel (man-ZEHL’) is getting the start tomorrow night at quarterback for the Browns as they face unbeaten Cincinnati. The second-year signal caller replaces the injured Josh McCown who is dealing with a sore right shoulder and injured ribs. This will be the second start this season for Manziel, who won against Tennessee in Week 2.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) β€” Ryan Fitzpatrick will start at quarterback for the New York Jets against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, despite sustaining a torn ligament in his left thumb last week. Coach Todd Bowles says the right-handed Fitzpatrick was a full participant at practice today and the team is hoping he continues to progress during the week.

UNDATED (AP) β€” Top-ranked North Carolina has lost senior guard Marcus Paige to a broken right hand for three to four weeks. The school says the preseason Atlantic Coast Conference co-player of the year broke a bone in his non-shooting hand during Tuesday’s practice.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) β€” Michigan men’s basketball coach John Beilein (BEE’-lyn) has a new contract. He has agreed to a two-year extension that runs through the 2020-21 season. The 25th-ranked Wolverines open the season next week against Northern Michigan.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” Matt Kenseth will have the appeal of his two-race suspension imposed by NASCAR heard on Thursday. Kenseth has been suspended for the next two races for intentionally wrecking Joey Logano in Sunday’s race at Martinsville. He was retaliating after being wrecked by Logano a few weeks ago at Kansas.
