ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) β Mixed messages continue to predominate the discussion in Buffalo as coach Rex Ryan and Bills defensive players don’t sound on the same page.
It began Monday, when linebacker Preston Brown said he was pleased to learn the defensive scheme had been simplified during the team’s bye week off.
On Wednesday, Ryan differed with that assessment.
Rather than saying the Bills are simplifying the playbook, Ryan said he hoped the playbook is becoming easier for his players to understand.
Ryan also placed an emphasis on his players needing to better execute the plays that are called.
The concerns are being raised over a defense that has yet to play close to its high-priced expectations as Buffalo (3-4) prepares to host Miami (3-4) on Sunday.
