American Airlines Honors Veterans, Families

CHARLOTTE, NC — An emotional thank you for veterans Wednesday at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

American Airlines gave a special salute to employees and their family members who served during the Vietnam War. The recognition is in partnership with the Department of Defense, which is marking the 50th anniversary of the first ground troops in Vietnam.

“It’s a long time coming,” said veteran Ralph Willcutt. “I’ve had a lot of emotional moments about this, and we never got the recognition that I feel we were deserved.”

Veterans were presented with a lapel pin. American Airlines held similar events at other hubs across the country.
