Charlotte Loses Bid for College Football Playoff Championship

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte’s push to become a sports destination took a hit Wednesday.

The Queen City lost out on a bid to host the College Football Playoff Championship game in 2019 or 2020.

There are reports the selection committee liked what Charlotte had to offer, but worried about the threat of wintry weather for the January games.
