Clemson has showdown with Seminoles…TCU, OSU tangle…Unbeaten Iowa in action

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) β€” Clemson rides its No. 1 spot in the inaugural College Football Playoffs ranking into an ACC showdown with No. 17 Florida State this afternoon. The 8-0 Tigers can clinch the ACC Atlantic with a win. The 7-1 Seminoles can take control of the division and get themselves into the playoff mix with a fourth consecutive win in the series.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) β€” Quarterback Trevone Boykin leads fifth-ranked and unbeaten TCU into a showdown at No. 12 Oklahoma State. Boykin is ranked second nationally in total offense, but the 8-0 Cowboys boast one of the most formidable defensive fronts in the country. Boykin passed for 410 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-9 win over OSU last season.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) β€” No. 10 Iowa has flown under the radar while building an 8-0 record that has the Hawkeyes harboring ambitions for national championship consideration. Iowa put those hopes on the line today against Indiana, which took No. 1 Ohio State down to the wire before losing and dropped a two-point loss at Michigan State in East Lansing.

SHANGHAI (AP) β€” Kevin Kisner shot a 2-under 70 to take the overnight lead in the third round of the HSBC Championship. Russell Knox has a chance to join or overtake Kisner, who’s at 16-under, when he finishes up the 18th hole on Sunday. Dustin Johnson and China’s Haotong Li are a shot back of the lead, while Jordan Spieth (SPEETH) is three back.

PARIS (AP) β€” Novak Djokovic (NOH’-vak JOH’-kuh-vich) has extended his winning streak to 21 matches and stayed on course for a third straight Paris Masters straight title after beating Stan Wawrinka (vah-VRINK’-ah) 6-3, 3-6, 6-love. Djokovic will face Andy Murray in the final after he took out David Ferrer 6-4, 6-3.
