Panthers Discuss Security Breach Ahead of Packers Game

CHARLOTTE, NC — There will not be any changes to security at Sunday’s Panthers game against the Green Bay Packers.
Β
Stadium officials answered our questions Friday about protesters who rappelled off the upper deck during Monday night’s game.
Β
“We’re confident in the NFL best practices, if we’re searching people and searching bags we’re going to get things,” says Panthers Stadium Operations Director, Scott Paul.Β
Β
The Panthers say they will not add any more security ahead of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.Β
Β
“Simply put we are going to work through best practices like we always have, and we are re-emphasizing training with thoseΒ on the front of the line,” says Scott.Β
Β
Four protesters were able to get ropes, gear and a massive banner past security. Β AndΒ both sides mum on just how they did it!
Β
“Magicians don’t reveal their tricks, that’s all I can tell you. We got it in,” says Angela Vogel.
Β
“It’s going to be up to CMPD when they conclude their investigation we’ll be back,” says Scott who refused to further comment on how they were able to sneak the items in.
Β
Officials made it clear they are not beefing up security for Sunday night’s game for the thousands of fans that will fill this stadium. Β But, they want them to know they already have good security measures in place.
Β
Fans say they are confident it was an isolated incident.Β
Β
“I think they have a good handle on security. Β I think they are going to be looking at what happened this past week and it won’t happen again,” says John Stenerson.Β
Β
“They could’ve brought a bomb or weapon, but so could anybody, to that matter, or anywhere,” says Curtis Hunter.
