CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they arrested the man who shot a mother in her east Charlotte home last week.
Reco Dawkins Jr is accused of shooting Samantha Bunce, a combat medic in the military. Β Police say Dawkins kicked down Bunce’s door at her home on Matlea Court.
Bunce had just finished feeding her infant child when she heard the man kicking down the door. according to police. Β Detectives say a shootout ensued after Bunce confronted Dawkins inside her house.
Bunce was struck several times with bullets and is still recovering in a local hospital. Β Dawkins has been arrested numerous times in Mecklenburg County.Β
The investigation is ongoing.
