UPDATE: Police have identified the victim of Thursday afternoon’s fatal shooting on Seigle Avenue as 31-year-old Jerome Blakely.
The investigation is ongoing.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in east Charlotte on Thursday.
Eastway Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at 4:48 p.m. for the 1300 block of Seigle Avenue. Β
Upon arrival they located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medic responded to transport the victim to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Β
The victim was pronounced dead while en-route to the hospital. His identity has not yet been released.
