Warrants Issued in Hough High ‘Sextortion’ Case

CHARLOTTE, NC — More than a dozen local teen girls threatened on social media to send more naked pics, or else. WCCB Charlotte has learned there are warrants out in this sextortion case.

The suspect is a 17-year-old former Hough High School student. His mother is talking to WCCB Charlotte. She says she knows what her son did is wrong, but says he wasn’t the only one involved.

The “sextortion” targeted 15 Hough High girls ages 14 to 18. According to a search warrant, the girls had taken nude selfies at some point.

The suspect’s mother says her son admitted to sending a couple of the girls the nude pics of themselves and asked for more, or they would be exposed. But she says other boys shared the pics with him, which the girls had taken themselves.

“If there are warrants issued, warrants need to be issued for all these children,” she said. “Why is my son the only one who has a warrant issued for him?”

That mother says CMS expelled her son last month, so she sent him to Michigan where he’s being homeschooled.
