INDIAN TRAIL, NC — Indian Trail’s Town Manager Joe Fivas has submitted his letter of resignation to the Town Council effective November 30th.
Fivas has served as the Town Manager for five years, but will vacate the position on November 30th.
Indian Trail Town Councilman Gary Savoie commented on Fivas resignation saying, “Sometimes people know it’s time to move on, and with a distinctive shift in this election, I’m sure Joe looked at it and decided the time was right for both he and the town to move in a new direction. I think it was best for the town to make a clean break and start fresh.”
Savoie also said,”Joe has always acted with honesty, integrity and professionalism with everything he did. He worked very long hours to do what’s right and best for this town, and that’s appreciated.”
Indian Trail Town Clerk Kelley Southward will serve as interim Town Manager until a permanent replacement can be found.
The new council will be sworn in at the scheduled meeting Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Indian Trail Civic Building.
