Veteran Surprised with Free Home

HARRISBURG, NC — An Iraq veteran and his family will spend the weekend in their brand new, mortgage-free home. 

The group Operation Homefront gave Army Sergeant Stuart Colon the keys to the home in Harrisburg Friday morning. He says he’s ready to move in, and get involved in the community.

“As a veteran, you can’t help but feel to always give back… and people always say you gave it all… but you still want to give more,” said Sgt. Colon.

Stuart was deployed to Iraq in 2003 and served eight years. He says he wanted to defend his country when he learned his cousin was in one of the Twin Towers when they were attacked on 9-11.
