Panthers Fans Have Thanksgiving Out to Watch the Game

CHARLOTTE, NC — 11 and 0. Just the possibility was enough to get some Panthers fans to alter their Thanksgiving.

“We had to make adjustments when the Panthers are playing on Thanksgiving. They are 10 and 0. Gotta get out here, especially if you’re a fan,” said Brandon Lewis.

And many did. Lynn and Tyler Robinson made All American Pub in South End their Turkey Day meal of choice.

“A burger of course,” said Lynn. “It was great, I had a cheeseburger. It was a turkey burger at least!” said Tyler.

And the best part, they say, is no dishes.

“We figured rather than one of us cook a big meal just for the two of us, come out, hang out amongst other Panther fans and get waited on, and it’s awesome,” said Tyler.

And for some early birds it was as comfortable as sitting in their own living room.

“We got here early, about 3 o’clock. Got great spot, couldn’t pass it up. Been here whole game,” said Brian Abernathy of South End.

They just tweaked their turkey plans a bit to make sure they had this prime spot for kickoff.

“We actually adjusted the schedule to accommodate the game. We had dinner last night so we could come out and watch the game this afternoon, which is fun,” said Abernathy.

With a big win against the Cowboys, they say it’s a Thanksgiving with a little more to be grateful for.

“11-0 is pretty exciting,” continued Abernathy. “I don’t think anyone saw this coming, beginning of season, so having Charlotte specifically in national spotlight and on Thanksgiving, the whole country’s watching.”
