Second Suspect Arrested in Thanksgiving Day Shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police in Gaston Ccounty have made another arrest in a Thanksgiving morning shooting. They say 24-year-old Joviniano Hernandez is in jail, charged with attempted murder.

He’s accused of a shooting at the Park Apartments on Pembroke Road. The victim was shot in the head and remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police also arrested 22-year-old Nicolas Cortes in connection to the shooting. He’s charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
