Police Still Searching For Suspect After Hit And Run Victim Dies

UPDATE: CMPD confirms that Jeanny Lamartiniere has died from her injuries sustained after a hit and run accident Wednesday morning.

The vehicle is a burgundy 1993-97 Infiniti J30. It is missing a driver’s side mirror and will probably have damage to the front driver’s side corner and quarter panel.

UPDATE: According to the family’s Pastor, Marc-Arthur Pierre-Louise, Jeanny Lamartiniere was pronounced brain dead Wednesday at 3:40.

The accident occurred just after 1:00am Wednesday morning in the 4400 block of Pineville-Matthews Road. Police say when they got to the scene they found Jeanny Lamartiniere lying in the road unresponsive. She was taken by Medic to CMC where she remains in critical condition.

A witness on the scene says it was an older model, burgundy, two door Nissan that hit Lamartiniere and then fled the scene. The witness also said the car had a rear spoiler with dark tinted windows.

Investigators say debris found at the scene confirms the car was a burgundy Nissan. They also say it will also be missing a driver’s side mirror and possibly have damage to the front driver’s quarter panel, turn signal, and driver’s door.

The vehicle was last seen heading east on Pineville-Matthews Road towards Providence Road.
