ACC Championship: Extraordinary Event

Bank-of-America-StadiumCHARLOTTE, N.C. — City Manager Ron Carlee has declared the ACC Championship Football game an Extraordinary Event.

The championship game will be held at Bank of America Stadium on Dec. 5th at 8 p.m. The event, along with the ACC FanFest pregame festival, has been declared an Extraordinary Event.

An Extraordinary Event is a large scale event which might attract a significant number of people to a certain area of the city.

The Extraordinary Event designation allows the city to modify its permitting process for activities and specifies certain items that are prohibited from being brought into boundaries of the event.

CMPD says that there are currently no known threats to the game or its related events, but there is a general security threat due to recent world events.
