UPDATE: Police have arrested 18-year-old Montez McLaurin in connection to the fatal shooting of a woman on Shamrock Drive.
McLaurin is being interviewed at police headquarters and will be charged with the murder and robbery with a deadly weapon of 33-year-old Angel Carlton.
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is looking for suspects after a woman was fatally shot late last night on Shamrock Drive in east Charlotte.
Police were called to the 4800 block of Shamrock Drive around 10:22 Wednesday night in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived Police found a woman with a gunshot wound. Medic later pronounced her dead on the scene.
Investigators say this doesn’t appear to be a random shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
