RICHBURG, SC — Lewisville High School students will park in front of the school Thursday and wave the American flag to memorialize a classmate who died in a crash.
Some students met along Gaston Farm Road Wednesday. That’s where 17-year-old Corey Abernathy’s truck ran off the road and hit a tree Tuesday night. Investigators haven’t said what caused him to crash.
Students describe Corey as a funny, outgoing guy.
“Everybody here at the school loved him,” said Lewisville student Krystan Maxfield. “It’s just really painful and it’s going to hurt for a while, but we’ll get through.”
Abernathy was a senior. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
