Autopsy: Newton Teacher Victim of Foul Play

 NEWTON, N.C. – Police in Newton received preliminary autopsy results Monday afternoon in the death of popular Newton educator Maggie Daniels. They say someone killed her and they are now investigating her death as a homicide.

Police aren’t saying yet how Daniels died. The 31-year-old was found unresponsibe in her apartment on Saturday morning, and police began investigating her death. They say they’ve called in the SBI to help, and have conducted many interviews, with many more to come.

Daniels was a guidance counselor at Discovery High School. Before that she taught and coached basketball at Newton-Conover High.
