Fatal Motorcycle Accident Involving Three Other Vehicles Leaves Motorcyclist Dead
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 53-year-old man is dead after a driver pulled out in front of a motorcyclist at the intersection of Providence Road and S. Wendover Road.
James Junior Johnson was driving his 2010 Harley Davidson when Susan Kyle Brown, the driver of a 2011 BMW X5, made a left turn onto Providence Road. Brown was in the left turn lane and her traffic signal showed a flashing yellow turn arrow. The front of Brown’s BMW struck the motorcycle.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene and Brown was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle. Brown is currently in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff. Speed and alcohol use are not factors for the collision.
Two other vehicles were involved in the accident, but neither of the drivers sustained any injuries.
