Gastonia House Is A Total Loss After Firefighters Battle Blaze
GASTONIA, N.C. – The Gaston County Police Department has confirmed that two juveniles have been charged with arson after a one-story home was completely destroyed Saturday night.
30 firefighters from Crowder’s Mountain Fire & Rescue, Union Road Volunteer Fire Department and New Hope Fire Department were called to a structure fire on Huffman Road in Gastonia just before 8 p.m. on Saturday evening.
When firefighters arrived, the residence had flames coming through the roof, windows and doors.
Firefighters moved into a defensive-only attack and were able to get the fire under control in about 90 minutes.
Despite the total loss of the structure, no firefighters or civilians were injured.
