Operation Summer Jam

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Operation "Summer Jam" was a North Carolina Department of Public Safety initiative coordinated with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and occurred on June 24th and June 26th. The operation targeted illegal activity of gang members on probation and parole, some of whom were known to commit crimes involving guns.

As a result of the two day operation, 6 firearms were recovered (4 of which were stolen), 20 grams of cocaine, 60 grams of marijuana and $10,292 in currency seized. Additionally, 16 individuals were arrested and face a multitude of felony charges.
