Police Arrest Alleged Cemetery Vandals
LOCUST, NC– Police have arrested three people who allegedly vandalized the grave stones at a local church.
Authorities say the vandals did major damage to 33 grave markers at the Running Creek Baptist Church on October 17th. There was an estimate of $14,000 worth of damages.
Representatives with the church also reported $3,000 in damage to the church building after several windows were broken in the sanctuary.
Police have charged Jarod Robert Smith, 17, Adam Levi Eudy, 16, and Brandon Lee Treece, 16, for the vandalism.
The three teens are also being charged for vandalizing Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Ridgecrest Elementary School.
Smith, Eudy and Treece are schedule to appear in District Court in Stanly County on November 2nd..
