Police: Two Men Scam Chipotle in Boone

BOONE, N.C. — Police say two men in Boone scammed a Chipotle out of money.

Police say one suspect requested change from the cashier. After receiving his change, the man made follow up requests for additional change, scamming the store out of money, according to investigators. 

Police say the other man, shown in the surveillance images, distracted the other employees while his partner committed the scam. This type of scam is commonly known as a “change raising scam” or a “short changing scam.”

The suspects are described as two black males of middle age.  Police say one suspect is heavy set and was wearing glasses and jewelry.  He was also missing a lot of teeth.  No other details for the suspects were provided.
