Woman Arrested In Drug Sweep Seriously Injures Herself In Intentional Fall
LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A woman arrested on Friday is now in the hospital after injuring herself in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
34-year-old Crystal Jones Hubbard of Newton jumped through a second floor railing around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Hubbard had been complaining about being sick and had thrown up earlier on Sunday. She was allowed to leave her cell to go shower. A jail trustee was on the same floor and Hubbard waited for her to move away before diving between the second and third railings on the walkway to the cement floor. The drop was about 20 feet.
Hubbard was taken to CMC Lincoln where she was stabilized before being airlifted to CMC Main. She suffered possible head and internal injuries.
