Local Church Holds Vigil for Shooting Victims
CHARLOTTE, NC — Authorities have identified the 14 people killed in Wednesday’s mass shooting in San Bernardino, California. 12 of them were San Bernardino County employees, many working for the Health Department.
Vigils are planned throughout the weekend. Friday, they were remembered here in the Queen City. Around a dozen people attended a vigil at the New Outreach Christian Center, where they lit candles and prayed for the victims and for an end to violence.
“We are just reaching out with our prayers and thoughts,” said Pastor Brenda Stevenson of the NOCC. “We know it’s a busy season, but we must stop and think about others. They really need our prayers; they need our support.”
