CMPD Collects Gifts for Kids in Need

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD needs donated toys for local kids this Christmas. That’s what brought Santa Claus in for a quick visit to the Queen City Wednesday.

Santa flew into Myers Park Country Club in a helicopter. He was there to collect presents for CMPD’s Christmas Explorers project.

Every year, the department collects gifts for kids in need. This Christmas, they hope to help more than 1,200 kids, but they need more gifts.

“Any little thing helps, even a gift from the dollar store,” said Cadet Greg Crews. “Any little thing to make a difference for these kids.”

You can donate a new, unwrapped gift at any Charlotte-Mecklenburg police or fire station.
