Former Deputy Sheriff Charged With Misconduct In Office

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A former Chesterfield County deputy sheriff was arrested on Thursday for misconduct involving a prostitute.

David Rainwater, 42, has been accused of engaging in sexual activity with a female who was paid for such acts. Officials say these offenses occurred numerous times between December 1st of 2014 and August 25th of 2015.

Rainwater is charged with Misconduct in Office, a violation which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. He is booked at the Chesterfield County Detention Center.
