Suspected Toy Thief Caught

LAWNDALE, NC — A Cleveland County man is finally caught after investigators say he stole a toy tractor from a boy’s home.

John Hastings is charged with theft and possession of a controlled substance tonight. Deputies discovered meth in his home while making the arrest Sunday.

The theft happened twice at a family’s home in Lawndale. Officers replaced the toy tractor after the first robbery.

Then last week, bandits were caught on camera stealing the replacement.
