GASTONIA, N.C.– One person is dead after a crash involving a garbage truck Tuesday morning in Gastonia.
The crash happened just after 3 a.m. at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Highway 321.
Officials with the Gastonia Police Department say 31-year-old Leslie Barrientos and her husband Moises Barrientos were driving south when they collided with a garbage truck.
Leslie Barrientos died on the scene.
Moises Barrientos and the driver of the garbage truck were transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Franklin Boulevard was closed for four hours, but has since reopened.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
