CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating the shooting death of a man that happened on Brookshire Boulevard early Wednesday morning.
The shooting happened around 12:43 Wednesday morning on the 3800 block of Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte. Police say when they arrived they found a man lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim has been identified as Benny Edwards Bennett Jr.
Police are reportedly searching for a maroon 4-door vehicle, with a blue front left quarter panel and spare tire on the front left tire. The vehicle was last seen traveling on Brookshire Boulevard towards I-85.
