UPDATE: Tornado Causes Damage In Union County

MONROE, N.C. — WCCB’s Marvin Beach got a first hand look of damage caused by a tornado in Union County.

These pictures were taken along Jug Broome Road in Monroe.  Several trees were downed and a shed was completely destroyed.

Weather officials determined an EF 0 tornado caused the damage.  Winds from the tornado reached 80-85mph.  Officials also say the tornado touched down at 4:58pm, 3 miles NNE of Trinity, traveled 0.8 miles and had a width of 75 yards.
