BADIN, NC — Badin Police Chief has confirmed that a 3-year-old was found dead after a house fire Wednesday morning.
Officials say the fire call came in around 9:30 this morning for a home at 307 Washington Street. 3-year-old Ja’Zyion Harris was found dead inside the home after crews managed to put out the fire.
Police believe the child became trapped inside the home at the time of the fire.
The mother, Kendra Medley, and father, Brandon Harris, managed to escape from the house. Medley was taken to the hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be serious.
There is no cause yet for what started the fire, but officials say they do not suspect foul play.
