Viewer Video Shows Fiery Accident Involving School Bus At The Plaza
CHARLOTTE, NC — Medic says 11 patients have been taken to CMC with minor injuries after a fiery accident involving a school bus this morning in east Charlotte.
A viewer video sent in from Kimberly Huston shows the SUV on fire after police say the driver of the SUV ran a red light and struck CMS bus 704.
CMS officials say the bus was headed to John Morehead STEM Academy with eight students on board. The collision caused the bus to crash into two trees.
The driver of the SUV, Shaquilla Miller, 29, and the bus driver, Marcia Harris, 38, were both taken to CMC with minor injuries.
Medic treated and transported 11 patients total from the scene. They say no one was seriously injured in the accident.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
