HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Police charged a Huntersville man on Tuesday with cashing stolen lottery tickets.

Police say Galen Shanks, 41, of Huntersville, cashed lottery tickets that were taken in a Marlboro County convenience store burglary on Nov. 23rd.
He was charged with eight counts of Falsely making, altering, forging, uttering, passing, or counterfeiting of a lottery ticket. The felony carries a penalty of up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $50,000, or both.
Shanks was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
