Deputies say 22-year-old Brandon Reese of Lancaster was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound in his truck around 1:30 yesterday afternoon. A witness had called deputies after passing Reese’s truck, which was parked on a farm road just off John Everall Road, and saw him unconscious inside.

The scene was quickly secured. Deputies, along with SLED and other crime scene investigators, remained on the scene until late in the evening.

Officials say this is an ongoing homicide investigation, and have not yet made any arrests.

“We need to know Mr. Reese’s movements Monday, Monday night, and into
Tuesday morning,” said Sheriff Barry Faile.  “We ask that anyone who had contact with
him during this timeframe, anyone who saw the truck on John Everall Road, and anyone
with any knowledge of this incident contact us immediately.”

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday morning, and we will bring you that update as soon as it’s made available.
