Local Unisex Bathroom Goes Viral
CHARLOTTE, NC — The Pure Pizza in Plaza Midwood has gone viral after its owner posted aΒ letter in the restaurantΒ explaining the decision to switch to gender-neutral restrooms.
The store’s owner says she was inspired after talking to single parents, parents of children with disabilities and members of the LGBTΒ community.
“So I started to hear about all these incidences and opened my ears and my heart, and it really stated to weigh on me,” said owner Juli Ghazi.
Though it is getting attention now, the letter has been up for five months, getting mostly positive feedback from people in Plaza Midwood.Β Now they’re getting letters of support from as far as Norway and Australia.
