Dozens of Guns Stolen from Collector

CHARLOTTE, NC — Dozens of guns are on the streets after someone stole an east Charlotte man’s collection.

44 weapons were taken from Charles Moore’s home. They include shotguns, rifles and handguns.

Police say the thief is pawning the guns and trading them with other criminals. That sort of gun trade is something CMPD is working to stop.

Moore worries about his guns being used in crimes.

“You’re not oblivious to what guns do and the climate today where guns are being used in the wrong hands to hurt people,” said Moore.

Seven of the guns have been recovered. Moore keeps the make, model and serial numbers of all of his guns, so police were able to track them.

Officers have not made any arrests in the thefts.
