Gastonia Fire Dept. investigating house fire

GASTONIA, N.C.– The Gastonia Fire Department responded to a house fire early Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 400 block of South Emerson Street around 3:45 a.m. Saturday.  When they arrived on scene smoke and flames were showing from the rear of the home.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in approximately 15 minutes and no injuries were reported.

Officials say the home was vacant at the time of the fire and that there are an estimated $20,000 in damages from the fire.

The Gastonia Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
