Expect Heavy Traffic & Parking Issues at Panthers Playoff Game

CHARLOTTE, NC – Fans are preparing for big crowds and high priced parking at Sunday’s playoff game.

Online parking maps show lots right around the stadium are already sold out.

A little further away, prices range from nearly $40 to more than $70.

Jeff Gregory says he’s not even going to try driving.”I’m taking the light rail from Tyvola station, where I live, here, as soon as they open about 6am, get down here about 6:30,” Gregory says.

Other fans say they don’t mind walking, if they can get a better price.

But don’t count on the usual spots being available.

A cheerleading competition at the Convention Center means thousands of other people will also be competing for parking and adding to the traffic headaches.

“They’ll be people here just tailgating, also. Not going to the game. So it will be crowded. Once again, get here early,” says Hickory resident Raymond Rodriguez.
