CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials say an airport employee was arrested Wednesday morning for bringing a gun onto the property.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged an Aviation Department employee with Possession of a Firearm on City Property at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
According to officials, the possession occurred on the non-secure side of the airport and prior to security checkpoints. The Aviation Department has suspended the employee and is investigating the incident.
The employee’s name has not been released at this time. WCCB will provide updates.
