CONCORD, N.C. — Police say the owner of a local Chinese restaurant was found butchering a deer carcass behind the building.
The incident occurred on Sunday at China Fun located on Concord Parkway. Concord police called the Health Department to the restaurant after the restaurant owner was seen cutting the deer carcass.
A Health Department official discovered blood, meat scraps, and a dear head on the ground outside of the building. A sink in the restaurant also contained deer meat with skin and hooves still attached.
Officials made the owner dispose of the deer in the outside dumpster, inspected all refrigerators, and made sure the area was sanitized.
No charges have been pressed at this time.
